Witness and dash cam appeal after man found seriously injured in Hitchin

Detectives are appealing for witnesses, information and dash cam footage after a man was found with serious injuries in Hitchin.

Officers were called shortly before 8.30pm yesterday (Monday 1 September) after members of the public found an injured man by the bus shelter in Redhill Road.

Police attended alongside colleagues from the ambulance service and the man, aged in his 40s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he remains at this time.

Detective Constable Beth Stevens, from the North Herts Local Crime Unit, said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish how the man came to sustain the injuries, and we are appealing for anyone with information to please come forward.

“If you have a dash cam fitted and were driving in the area between 6pm and 7.45pm last night, please check it as you may have recorded some crucial footage. This can be uploaded via herts.police.uk/dashcamupload.

“Additionally, if you have any further information to assist our investigation, no matter how small or insignificant you think the details you have may be, please email me via Beth.Stevens@herts.police.uk.”
